2. Specialist Therapy data can be imported to your MEAD software and displayed in the Specialist Therapy tab at the bottom fo the Patient Analysis window. Contact your MEAD sales person for more information.
3. Example special application therapy data for educational purposes is available here. Download Application Data (MeTran.mdb 6.4Mb)
4. Use the data import/export screen in the MEAD software. Select import therapy data, then browse to find this download (MeTran.mdb), then import.

"Check the USB Connection" Error Message

The issue described here does not pertain to MEAD specifically. It is a Windows problem and happens to all USB enabled devices albeit rarely. Basic problem is that Windows did not recognize the new hardware and therefore did not install the needed driver. Without it, MEAD could not locate the hardware(the device box) and generated the error message about checking the USB connection.

Procedure:
1. Go to "Start" and select "Control Panel."
2. Choose "System" and enter.
3. Go to "Hardware" tab and select "Device Manager."
4. A list of devices will show up. Locate the one with a question mark on it. Delete or uninstall it.
5. Go back to the desktop.
6. Unplug the USB cable. Wait momentarily, then plug back in.
7. On the Windows desktop, there should be a message at the bottom tool bar that says "Found New Hardware."
8. Proceed installation as usual.

This should take care of the problem. If it doesn't, then try installing on another computer. If the issue persists, then it is a hardware problem and should be returned for exchange.

Calibration Error

Meanwhile, if you'd like to upgrade your software now, you can download the software patch. Procedure:
1. Confirm that the NIC cotton is well moistened with at least 5% saline solution. There should not be any dry areas.
2. Check to confirm that the cotton tip is all the way in the probe.
3. go to the calibration screen
4. select Start.
5. Put the measuring probe against the round metal ground that goes in the palm of the hand.
6. The device should beep until completion.
7. The message at the bottom should indicate completion. If so, then calibration is complete, and exit this page.
8. If there is an error, then try calibrating the metal point on the probe to the round ground. If this calibrates, it is not valid, but indicates that the device and software are functioning. In this case you will need to try adding salt to your saline solution.
9. To increase the salt content of your saline, pour some solution in a cup or bowl. Add a pinch of salt, and mix. 10. Put the NIC cotton in the mixture, and re-dampen. 11. Try the calibration again. go to step 3.
